The NIC currently has usage policy statements for 7 networks. These
are available from host ftp.nisc.sri.com (network address
192.33.33.53) via anonymous FTP (i.e. log in as "anonymous" and give
the password "guest"). The file names are:

  netinfo/cerfnet.policy
  netinfo/cren.policy
  netinfo/farnet.policy
  netinfo/fricc.policy
  netinfo/mrnet.policy
  netinfo/northwestnet.policy
  netinfo/nsfnet.policy

We'll be adding one for SURAnet in the next few weeks, and others as
soon as we can get them. In another message to this list, Ric Nauen
pointed out a mistake that we had made in the wording of question #5
of the IP number application, which asked:

  5) Indicate if your network traffic will conform to the acceptable
use and access criteria of the following networks:

That question should have asked:

  5) Indicate if your network traffic will conform to the acceptable
use and access criteria of one or more of the following networks:
                                ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

We are in the process of implementing new registration procedures
based on RFC 1174 recommendations, and working to minimize the
problems associated with activating these new procedures. We
apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused and
ask for your patience while we work out the snags. Please address any
of your questions to HOSTMASTER@NIC.DDN.MIL.
