Yes, there was such a program posted to comp.sources.misc that could read/write dos files quite some time ago. The programs were called "sparc-mtools". They are available from your favorite comp.sources.misc archive site. The site I typically use is the wuarchive: wuarchive.wustl.edu [128.252.135.4] The files you want are in /usenet/comp.sources.misc/volume11/sparc-mtools The posting is stored compressed, in the original 3-part posting.
