There is a patch to the recently anounced C version of DVItoVDU available for anonymous ftp from augean.ua.oz.au. The file is pub/misc/dv.patch.Z. ACSnet fetchfilers delete the leading pub/. This is mostly a functional enhancement which uses the same font directory hierarchy as dvi3ps. That is: If "fontdir/SUBDIR" exists then dv expects the pk files to be in "fontdir/name/font" where "name" is for example cmr10 and "font" might be cmr10.300pk. Otherwise it looks for "fontdir/font". This is a considerable win as it prevents the need for a font directory with 1000+ files in it.
