The source for nnotes 1.3 is available via ftp-anon to a.cs.uiuc.edu as pub/nnotes.tar.Z. For those not familiar with notes, notes was developed at the University of Illinois in the early 1980s. It is quite popular here, partially due to its excellent (IMHO) user-interface. Unfortunately, notes requires EACH machine to store all of the articles. This architecture is no longer efficient given the ever increasing amount of newsgroup traffic. Nnotes allows notes-lovers to use 'notes' in a distributed enviornment. I strongly suggest installing nn on your system before installing nnotes. This is not required, but it makes things a lot easier. Thanks to Kim Storm for allowing me to use the nn code for this.
