My wife and I are considering the purchase of a honda accord ( sedan or LX ) in the near future. I would be interested in hearing coments/experiences good or bad with either of these cars. And for those who own these do you feel that the added expence of buying the LX over the sedan is worth the price. ( a difference of about $2000 ) Please send mail to me as I am not a regular reader of this group. Thanks in advance, Guy A. Lewis

I would apprecaite if someone can tell us what is a reasonable price to pay in getting an accord sedan or a LX. Please send net mail as soon as possible. thank you. Lu

The New Jersey dealer attempted to add on $1000 to the sticker price of $10,400, including a 6 week wait. Add-ons of $2000+ are common for Preludes. After telling the dealer that I was serious about buying a car, and preferably a Honda, but was adamently opposed to extra markups I was told "Sorry, but thats our policy." Two days later the price dropped by $500. Five days later the price dropped $500 more and one miraculously appeared on the showroom floor that "a customer could not get financing on." The only catch-- it had to be off the books by the end of the month. When I picked up the car the saleslady gave me a stack of business cards to pass out to prospective customers and offered to send me $25 for each sale she made as a result of my recommenda- tion. Shortage of cars? Be firm, polite, and take your time, $10,000 is a lot of bread. Ever consider a Saab? Check out what $12,400 will buy. No hassle, competent dealer, no markup and twice the car, + 33mpg on trips, 28000 flawless miles! Rick Stealey
