Hi! I've just joined this newsgroup & have seen several articles
asking for a PD UUCP package. Here's my $0.02 worth...
A guy called Fred van Kempen has written a UUCP package for Minix
(a Unix-clone OS that runs on PCs, Ataris, Macs & Amigas). It
appears to be a V7 UUCP with some features missing. His email
addresses are:
Fred van Kempen waltje@minixug.mugnet.org
Fred van Kempen waltje@uwalt.nl.mugnet.org
Currently he is working on a rewrite of UUCP, but I don't know
to what extent (HoneyDanBer???). I suggest you contact him for
more details.
BTW, the source for his UUCP is available on plains.nodak.edu
[134.129.111.64], anon ftp, in the files
pub/Minix/all.contrib/uucp.tar.Z (size 131810)
pub/Minix/pc/uucp.tar.Z (size 350526)
I suspect the latter is a duplicated copy of the former. He also has
a mailer for Minix that uses UUCP, and I think his email addresses
above are actually Minix sites.
That's all I know. I've got his UUCP on my PC at home & it seems to work ok.
Remember: email him, not me. Your milage may vary. No warranty implied,
no guarantee given. Etc...
This won't work under Messy-DOG.
