I have finished my works on the 'test-server' or 'xt-server' Now you can have it if you want it, but it's no good for general use: It is not client protocol compatible, that means none of your clients will work with it, only a special version of ircII does. The new features are: - AWAIT [<nickname> [<nickname>..]] stores a wait-for-user request. Server then informs you of signon of a user. You can also await a server, you will be informed as soon as it links up to the network, but you may not use *'s because masks are not allowed with AWAIT. - REFUSE [<user@host-mask> [<mask>..]] does a 'server-ignore'. - A gateway protocol is included, used by the BITNET->IRC gateway. - VOICE, GRPH and XTRA are not converted to PRIVMSG anymore. - LIST displays also the channel modes. - All replies are numeric. The output is in SMTP/NNTP/FTP style. No more NOTICE's coming from the server. - Auto Unlink: The server automatically connects to the net when the first local user signs on and unlinks if noone is using the server. You may set and reset these features in the config.h supplied with it Both server and special ircII are available at ftp 134.106.1.9 (ftp.informatik.uni-oldenburg.de) in the directory /pub/irc. -- o----------------------------------------------------------------------o | Carlo "Lynx" v.
