I know this is probably not the appropriate newsgroup, but this is
where it got announced (by someone else), so this is where I'll make
this announcement.

I guess the cat is out of the bag now; since Monday 102 sites have
FTP'd wxmap from uxc, and I've gotten a considerable number of bug
reports from people. Thank you all.

I believe I've fixed the problems everyone has pointed out; the result
is wxmap patchlevel 10; available again by anonymous FTP or by just
applying the patch below. Please spread the word around so I don't have
to hear about strncasecmp anymore.

I should also point out that there are unanswered data licensing
questions regarding in what forms I am allowed to distribute the
incoming data from the supplier. I certainly don't want to get the
University of Illinois in any legal trouble, so if I get told that I
have to disable some (or all) of the information available to wxmap
from the server, I of course will. In that case, I will make the server
code available and tell people who to contact to buy their own
downlinks.

I'm also looking into creating a wxmap discussion list; if I do, I hope
rec.aviation readers will bear with one more posting from me in the
future announcing its existence; then I promise to shut up on the
subject here.

I kind of got caught with my pants down with this; I never intended
this to be more than a toy for some folks here in my department to play
with on their workstations. I'm pleased that it has been greeted so
warmly by the net, but I will be scrambling for a bit to get it into
"supported code" state.

Thanks again for the kind words. Below is the patch.
