I'd like to direct this comment toward the person who had a close call on one of New York's wonderful highways (Grand Central?) and was wondering about pursuing the matter. My advice: Forget it. Possibility one: The person who claimed he was a cop in fact wasn't. Well, it is probably true the police would like to get him for that alone, it is unclear that much of anything will happen except that you may get a psycho mad at you. Because of various other New York laws you would probably be powerless to defend yourself against him. Possibility two: The person may indeed have been a cop. Have you caught the news lately? Reports of cops torturing suspects with stun guns and numerous reports of cops involved in hit and run accidents. (I admit that these reports speak of only a minority of New York police and are distorted and misleading - like everything else in the press. Nevertheless, the only thing more dangerous to taunt than a psycho is a psychotic cop.) Take comfort in the fact that while there may be a lot of sloppy, dumb, or slow drivers in New York, most are not lunatics. Watch out for and avoid those who are crazy. -- "The Model Citizen" Mike^Z Zaleski@Rutgers [allegra, ihnp4] pegasus!mzal
