The site "ddsw1" is open for anonymous UUCP archive access.

We have a number of goodies online, and automatically archive several Usenet
newsgroups. The README file is attached below. Enjoy!

Welcome to ddsw1's archive server!

To request files from this server, you must abide by the following rules:

1) The server is available ONLY from 12 Midnight to 6 AM Central time.
At all other times it will refuse your connection unless you are a
site registered with our machine. If you are using a registered login,
your call is accepted at any time.

	A typical Systems entry is:
	ddsw1 Any ACU 19200 17088087305 "" \d\d\d\r ogin: nuucp
	ddsw1 Any ACU 2400 17088087300 "" \d\d\d\r ogin: nuucp

The first of these is for a Telebit, the other is for 2400 baud.

2) You should retrieve the file "~/DIRECTORY/FILES"
(or "/u/public/sources/DIRECTORY/FILES" if you have a regular uucp login)
first and find the files you want. You must then issue ONE COMMAND FOR
EACH FILE YOU WANT TO RECEIVE. Our uucp will NOT permit you to request
wildcarded names, and attempts to queue uucp jobs (or uux jobs) on our
   system will fail.

To get the file list, you would execute on your machine:

	uucp ddsw1!/u/public/sources/DIRECTORY/FILES ~/

This command should call our machine and retrieve the file list. You
can then repeat this procedure for each file you wish to receive from
   our site.

3) All remote command executions are disallowed from the anonmymous uucp
login. Attempts to execute any commands on our equipment (other than the
aforementioned file transfers) will be logged and denied. Specifically,
it is not possible to have the system mail your requests to you; you must
call and pick them up yourself.

4) Attempts to spoof our system, take any file other than that in the public
directories, or perform any other unauthorized act will be logged and
may cause your site to be put in our "bogeyman" file; once in there, you
will not be able to access the archive server at all.

We have a number of games online, as well as the smail3 sources and lots of
other goodies. Current map files are also available. See the "FILES" list
for the complete list. Files will be added periodically.

Note that most files are compressed, and most large distributions are either
in multipart shar archives or tar archives. Either should be easily
unpacked on your system. The compress distribution itself is in
site does not have compress installed grab this first and build it so you
can unpack the rest of the material.

Our phone numbers are:
	(708) 808-7300 (1200 or 2400 baud connections only)
	(708) 808-7305 (TELEBIT only)

If you have any questions, call during business hours at (708) 808-7200
voice and ask for the systems department.

The archive list is automatically updated nightly.
