This server (which is also configured to respond to finger queries) uses a database to return information about registered users. The server machine is 'csus.edu'. Information on the process can be obtained by picking up the documentation from /pub/nls/nls.doc on Anonymous-FTP site 'csus.edu'. The program package is available from the same location. (Note: the complete archive contains a much prettier PostScript version of the documentation). At some point in time I would like to port this code to interface to VMS TCP packages. Such a port should not be difficult; coming up with the *time* to do it is the difficult part. (I envision a multi-vendor hook that will support MultiNet, WINS, and CMU, similar to the public news packages that I've been studying). John F.
