Also, it can generate output for gnuan and the xboard program. It is multi-lingual (european) for piece identification. The program understand french, english, german, spanish dutch and italian. Send me piece symbols for other languages(dannish, swedish, russian, portugese...), I will incorporate them happily. This is a freeware program. You have the right to modify it, give it, provided you don't modify the copyright notice and my name still remains. This program is ok on Sun Sparc Station and Sun-3. It uses standard C, and I guess won't be too difficult to compile on a IBM-PC with MSC. See the README for additional information. If you're happy with this program, let me know. Also, I'm interested in any advice to a novice player of chess. I would appreciate if someone might give me advice about openings: overview, what they are for, which ones are not too risky for a novice etc... Thanks. I hope the program is clear enough to be easily modified. Anyway, I would like to centralize modifications, in order to manage an up-to-date version. So send me the modifications, in forms of diff files, if possible, along with the version number of the program.
