Hopkins) Original-subject: Pegasus Mail Reposted-by: emv@msen.com (Edward Vielmetti, MSEN) Everyone, Some people have been asking me for more info on Pegasus Mail, so here it is: Pegasus Mail was designed from the ground up to work hand-in-hand with Novell NetWare, versions 2.15 and above. Because of this, it uses the default Novell SYS:MAIL directory structure of Novell, saving you the work of setting up new mail subdirectories for your users. As I told you earlier, it is free, but the author attempts to recoup some of the time he puts into it by selling printed manuals. If you don't want the manuals, that's fine as the on-line help is excellent. It is menu-driven and very easy both to set up and to use. It has made all the difference in our network between our users HATING our system and at least tolerating it. (This is a student lab where kids do their homework, so nobody really loves the system.) In one quarter, our users have become addicted to e-mail, and our response time to support requests is much faster. Most importantly, the author takes requests. If there is a feature that you would like to see, you can tell him about it. There is a fair chance that feature would be included in the next upgrade. You can download Pegasus Mail via anonymous FTP from SPLICER.CBA.HAWAII.EDU (128.171.17.7) User ANONYMOUS Password <your email address> BINARY mode It is in the directory G:\FILES\PEGASUS and is called PMAIL21A.EXE . If you need internet mail access, you will also want to download the file called CHARON.ZIP . This is the gateway between Pegasus and the internet. +-----------------------------------------+------------------------------+ | John D.
