When I first posted my question about the locking problem and then the second request asking where to find the patches I expected to be told I was the only one who didn't now where they were. As it turns out a lot of people have had and are having the same problems and fustrations with this issue. Currently I've only been able to find the lockd patch, #100075-06 (the 06 rev is the sticking point) on ftp.cs.clemson.edu. Much thanks to Jay Williamson there. Before I posted this I asked him if it was ok and his only request was to not ftp from there during working hours 8:00am - 5:00pm EDT. As these are bug fixes and not enhancments to the OS I really don;t understand why Sun isn't doing more about this. The time lost tracking this stuff down is bad enough but, as Jay pointed out to me, what about the security issues involved. I'm ftp'ing binary kernel patches, which I have no way to verify, from a public site ! Great, makbe I'll be in the next issue of 'The Cukoo's Egg'. By the way if any crackers are out there reading this here's your chance, if you haven't thought about it already.
