After installing MX at a new site here on campus the other day, I realized
what a pain it is to get everything up to the latest and greatest revision.
I have therefore created a new distribution, called MX V2.3, which includes
the following:
MX V2.2 with the V2.2-2 update
NETLIB V1.1 (the TCP/IP interface library used by the SMTP support code)
The FLQU SHOW ACCVIO loop bugfix
The BookReader-format documentation
This is all packaged as a new distribution kit. Although I've updated the
version number, there is no new functionality in the V2.3 package beyond
what V2.2-2 already provides.
- If you are currently running V2.2-2, you do not need to upgrade to V2.3.
- If you are currently running V2.2, you can either upgrade to V2.3 or
get the V2.2-2 update kit, which is still available.
The new V2.3 distribution kit is available only by anonymous FTP from
vms.ecs.rpi.edu and vms2.ecs.rpi.edu, in directory [ANONYMOUS.MX.MX023].
I have removed most of the V2.2 files from the FTP archive, except for the
V2.2-2 update kit and the BookReader doc kit, which are in [ANONYMOUS.MX.MX022].
I will update the Fileserv distribution after I return from Atlanta.
