Ranum) Original-subject: Note to those of you playing with prerelease Unter Reposted-by: emv@msen.com (Edward Vielmetti, MSEN) I've gotten a couple of notes from people who have FTPd out the prerelease UnterMUD sources from decuac, and have (apparently) been looking/playing with it. If you do so, please bear in mind that the code is undergoing constant radical change, and any changes you make that aren't fed back to me (or untermud@decuac.dec.com) are likely to get lost. Some of you have reported bugs that are a result of the "intermediate" state of some of the code - bear in mind that I try to keep a fairly recent cut of what's going on out there, and that includes debug junk, test code, and so forth. If you are at all interested in UnterMUD, I suggest you contact me, or wait for a little longer until a polished ported documented(?) version is ready. The current revision is suitable and usable for play in a single-world Unter, without inter-MUD connectivity. When the changes that are currently being made for the inter-MUD connectivity are rolled back into the base release, the beast will change a fair bit in some places. mjr. -- comp.archives file verification decuac.dec.com -rw-r--r-- 1 388 system 154363 May 4 21:34 /pub/umud.tar.Z found untermud ok decuac.dec.com:/pub/umud.tar.Z
