Distribution(net.auto) : I've got a problem with my Fiat. Surprised? While rebuilding the rear disc brake calipers, I noticed the bleeder screw for the left caliper was broken off where it emerges from the caliper. In addition, the right caliper bleed screw was eroded to the point where no amount of Liquid Wrench was enough to encourage it to move, even with the aid of vise-grips. I was forced to bleed what air I could from the rear system by loosening the hose connection to each caliper enough to let the air sneak past the threads. This was only partially effective, so I'd like to get some input from all you out there. Has anyone ever drilled out a bleeder screw? Can it be done? New calipers cost $90+ each and I'd like to avoid that kind of investment. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a car that has bleeder screws that were neglected by previous owners. Any suggestions (other than driving slower and safer; I've got to draw the line somewhere) will be appreciated. K. Krusinski AT&T Bell Labs Holmdel
