I have written a HyperCard based DNA sequence editor for the Macintosh.
It speaks the bases as you enter them from the keyboard. The keyboard
can be configured to correspond to the order of the sequencing reactions
on the gel. Sequence that has been entered can be spoken back for
confirmation. Sequences can be saved in a number of different formats,
making it easy to move the data between different programs. The stack is
called SeqSpeak 1.0 and is available by anonymous ftp from the archives at
iubio.bio.indiana.edu . It is located in the [archive.molbio.mac] sub-
directory. I would be happy to email copies of the stack to anyone
without ftp access. The stack requires HyperCard version 2.0 and runs on
any Macintosh that can run HyperCard (MacPlus on up).
