I've just released Tk version 1.2, which is identical to version
1.1 except for fixing the "windows walking south" problem. This
was a complex problem involving nasty interactions between the
ICCCM protocol and various (incorrect) implementations of it in
window managers. I wouldn't be surprised if there are other
problems that I haven't encountered yet... let me know if/when
you encounter them.

We've been having disk problems lately on Sprite, and the public FTP
area happens to be on the affected disk. Although I think things
are OK now, there may be intermittent problems with public FTP over
the next few days as we get the problems fixed permanently. If public
FTP doesn't seem to work, try again a few hours later.

Here's the standard blurb with detailed instructions on retrieving
the release:

I have left copies of the source and documentation for the Tk
toolkit, and for the Tcl command language on which it depends,
in the public FTP area on sprite. To retrieve all of this stuff,
use anonymous FTP to sprite.berkeley.edu (user "anonymous", password
"guest") and retrieve the file "tk.tar.Z" from the top-level directory
with the following set of commands:
type image (try "type binary" if this command is rejected)
		get tk.tar.Z
The Internet address for sprite.berkeley.edu is 128.32.150.27, in case
you need it.

What you'll get is a compressed tar file; to get back the original
directory hierarchy, type the commands
		uncompress tk.tar.Z
		tar xf tk.tar
This will create a tk subdirectory with all the source files and
documentation. There will be a README file in the subdirectory that
tells what to do next.

If you are unable to access Sprite via FTP, send me an e-mail message
and I'll find some other way (such as 1/2" tape or 8mm Exabyte tape)
to get the distribution to you.
