There was a recall that included my '78 Mustang II with V6.

I recently recieved from Ford a recall on my 79 Ford Granda with the
problem of the material in the fan was not up to standards and was breaking
off at the blades. They warned not to open hood when motor is running or
to work on the engine when the motor is running. Ford Granda, Mustangs,
Fairmonts with the years somewhere between 77 or 78 to, I think it was
80 or 81. It included also the LTD's and the engines were V6 and V8's. The funny thing was that before I had the fan replaced I would get
up to speeds to 75 to 80 MPH the engine would shake like crazy. Now
I don't know if this had anthing to do with the fan or belts but after
they replaced the fan(of course no charge at all including parts and
labor) the shaking had stopped and now the car runs smooth even at
speeds of 80 to 90 MPH with no problems.
