You can get it via anonymous ftp from ~ftp/pub/gnu/g++-1.39.tar.Z (a compressed tar file). You must set file transfer type to binary mode, or the image you retrieve will be corrupted. The only difference between version 1.39.1 and version 1.39.0 concerns the interface to GDB. Namely, GNU C++ 1.39.1 outputs debugging info which is again consistent with what version 3.5 expects. It is also the same information that version 1.37.x emits. I apologize for not being able to put more time into integrating changes from the net. I have been integrating them into a future version of GNU C++ (which will be freely distributable--just not yet). It you really want to see your changes put in, try this: put them in, test them, announce your intention, let others test them, and then make a release 1.39.2. It's really that simple--as long as people communicate. Michael P.S. As usual, GNU C++ is distributed with a user survey in the file "survey.tex". If you haven't done so yet, please fill it out and sent it to tiemann@cygnus.com. According to a recent posting, there are about 3x as many sites distributing GNU C++ as there were responses to the survey so far, which means that either the computers have started using GNU C++ themselves, or some people have not taken the time to answer. -- comp.archives file verification prep.ai.mit.edu -rw-r--r-- 1 14910 wheel 1074925 Nov 3 1989 /pub/gnu/g++-1.36.0.tar.Z -rw-r--r-- 1 14910 wheel 1109444 Mar 1 1990 /pub/gnu/g++-1.37.0.tar.Z -rw-r--r-- 1 14910 wheel 1199261 Jan 31 12:57 /pub/gnu/g++-1.39.0.tar.Z -rw-r--r-- 1 14910 wheel 1202543 May 12 17:50 /pub/gnu/g++-1.39.1.tar.Z -rw-r--r-- 1 14910 wheel 23669 Mar 2 1990 /pub/gnu/g++.diff-1.37.0-1.37.1 found g++ ok prep.ai.mit.edu:/pub/gnu/g++*
