Bob Lyle <Z4610816@sfaustin.bitnet>, aka Lyelf the Lame, has not
received a copy of the Armorial & Ordinary . . .

Perhaps this would be a good time to mention that the armorial is
available in machine (and human) readable form, and can be ftp'd from
the 'pub' directory of meadow.stanford.edu (36.64.0.20).
This is not *quite* as useful as having the devices pre-sorted by
element, as in the Ordinary, but it beats nothing.

Speaking of which, how's that heraldic software project going?
Has anyone considered writing a parser for blazons that at least
recognizes "Argent, a fess sable" in "Argent, a fess and two
swords fessways sable", but knows it's *not* in "Argent, a
fess gules and two swords fessways sable" ? I haven't figured
how to get 'awk' to do this yet, :-), and I'm too busy writing
a thesis this summer to code it up myself.
