Well, I just finished MUFpage version 2.09, and Bastis only knows why I'm
still supporting this program! It is currently available for anonymous
ftp on belch.berkeley.edu in the pub/tinymuck directory.
It's a MUF program designed for use on a MUCK 2.2 or better system. It
replaces the normal server based page with a much nicer IMHO setup. The
only thing wrong is that it takes about 4 to 5 minutes to upload this
sucker to a MUCK as it runs about 1700 lines once it passes through
/lib/cpp..
Features:
* multi-player paging: page tom dick harry=Hello!
* page-again to page last players paged: page = Whats up?
* page-replay to reply to a page: page #r=Heya!
* page-posing to do remote poses: page john=:laughs hard!
* page-aliases for aliasing names: page wizards=HELP!!!
* multiple page formats so that you can
have pages like: 'Tom sneaks up behind you and whispers, "Hi!"'
and 'Tom shouts loudly across the muck at you, "Hi!"' by simply
specifying a different format to use with: page !format player=mesg
* page-mail for keeping up to 15 single line messages from people
that you can list out. This is also useful, because anytime a
player uses page, they are told of any page-mail waiting for them.
* page ignoring so that you can refuse pages from specific players
if you wish to.
* partial name matching if the 'online' or an equivalent primitive
exists on the system.
* Can tell you if a player is asleep when you try to page them if the
'awake?' or a similar primitive exists in the server.
* Can re-imburse you the cost of the page so that pages become free.
Improvements from 2.00:
* page-mail is now stored in encrypted strings on you, so a wizard
can't accidentally read it by examining you.
* page-mail now has a better time/date format stamping.
* page-mail can also be forwarded to a different player is you have
multiple characters.
* page #check will tell you how many messages are waiting to be read
by anotehr player, and how old the oldest is.
* In oformats, %t now is expanded out into the list of all the people
that the message is to.
* Fixed a bug with a player paging when they have too few, or negative
pennie amounts.
* Added in a #credits screen, giving credits to all the people who have
been help or inspiration or both.
