Ok... Maybe I'm being stupid, but I've gotten into the habit of
looking at every new mud that has anything like a combat system in it
to see what it's like. So, I tried to get onto DUMII.... Well, after
I telneted to it (my mud.el client just couldn't find it). I
remembered seeing this mud before, and when I tried to log on and got
the really strange random carriage returns being inserted as I typed I
began to wonder. Is this mud for real, or is this a joke mud? I was
a little suspicious before, but now I'm really suspicious? No insult
intended if it is a real mud, but I've never seen a mud do what that
mud did when I tried to log in. Thanks,
I suggest you get mymud.el V1.25 via anon ftp from golem.ps.uci.edu.
In addition to all the other advantages I have recounted at great
length in other posts in this group, it strips ^M's, has an option to
automatically remove blank lines, and in addition you type your input
in a window different from the one in which all output is displayed.
Also it is rather trivial to add new muds to the list.
