Now that I'm finally getting caught up from my two trips away from CMU, I can
give you the latest and greatest info about CMU-TEK.
First, let's start off with the basics...
Anonymous FTP site:
A new system has been established as the home of CMU-TEK's patches and fixes.
For those of you who are having problems with FTP since you have gone to VMS
V5.4 or greater, you should look here for FTP028.A (or .A_Z for the compressed
saveset) which is a VMSINSTALlable FTP kit to fix that problem. The system
name is CMUTEK.CC.CMU.EDU and, as always, you should use username ANONYMOUS
with the password being your E-Mail address.
Inquiry addresses:
We have an address on ANDREW.CMU.EDU, namely tcpip+@ANDREW.CMU.EDU, where you
can send your administrative inquiries. Technical problems may be sent here,
but they are better sent to this mailing list (cmu-tek-tcp+@ANDREW.CMU.EDU).

News about 6.6...
We are finishing up the beta-test of CMU-TEK 6.6. The new version will have:
Many bug fixes over the 6.5 release
[mostly missing periods in the BLISS code]
Full support for IP fragmentation for both incoming and outgoing
packets
Multinet (tm) compatible FTP transfers (better known as STRU O VMS)
for transferring VMS-format files intact between systems which support
this structure
Initial NFS Server release
and probably other things which I have neglected to remember...
When will it be available? Well, it looks like July 1 is our target date. It
will take some time for the manuals to get printed and bound which is why the
late date. We will be sending mail (the USPS kind) to all our clients on file
with information about the new release when we are ready to start accepting
orders.
How much? I don't know - we haven't gone through this yet here, but that
information will be available by the time we send out the announcement kits.
