Reposted-by: emv@msen.com (Edward Vielmetti, MSEN) Starting with the 1.08 distribution, the bash-maintainers will be releasing patches for fixes to bugs as they are found and fixed. The patches are all context-style diffs, which can be applied in the source directory of bash-1.08 with: patch <bash.diffs-1.08-px where `x' is the number of this particular patch release. Patch releases are accumulative; you should apply p1 before applying p2. However, I am tempted to also place a file called bash.diffs-1.08-newest on prep, which is the accumulated patches, so that applying that file to the distribution is equivalent to applying all of the patches in order. At any rate, some bugs have already been found and fixed; the patches are available for anonymous ftp from prep.ai.mit.edu in the file bash.diffs-1.08-p1.Z.
