MacKenzie) Original-subject: GNU fileutils 2.0 released Reposted-by: emv@msen.com (Edward Vielmetti, MSEN) Version 2.0 of the GNU file manipulation programs is now available for anonymous ftp from prep.ai.mit.edu [18.71.0.38] in the file pub/gnu/fileutils-2.0.tar.Z. The programs in this package are: cat chgrp chmod chown cmp cp cut dd dir du expand head install ln ls mkdir mkfifo mv paste rm rmdir split tac tail touch unexpand vdir dir and vdir are ls with different default output formats. mkfifo is a POSIX invention that is like `mknod file p'. tac prints files backwards. Changes from release 1.4: Added chown, chgrp, expand, unexpand, and split programs, new options to du and cp, changes to allow compilation on minimal POSIX.1 systems, more bug fixes, and changes for POSIX.2. Made source code more modular. Made configuration semi-automatic. -- comp.archives file verification prep.ai.mit.edu -rw-r--r-- 1 14910 wheel 274721 Jun 9 21:37 /pub/gnu/fileutils-2.0.tar.Z found gnu-fileutils ok prep.ai.mit.edu:/pub/gnu/fileutils*
