[can.usrgroup] subject for the next meeting

evan@telly.on.ca (Evan Leibovitch) (11/20/88)

Unless there's been a massive change of plans, I imagine the next meeting of
Unix-unanimous will take place at UofT FLIS as always. I suggest that the
subject(s) of this month's meeting be two-fold:

1) a brief discussion of 'the virus', who it affected, and what impact it may
have on the rest of us (possibly to include a small primer on "what is the
Internet"):

2) Windowing systems. I myself would like to see this as starting from a
preliminary level (what are they, how are they implemented, what kind of
hardware is necessary to make them work), and possibly growing to a more
detailed discussion at a later date.

I would think the windows subject would be timely considering the OSF
window wars, the possible merger of Open Look and DECwindows, and the
new release of X.

Suggestions? Comments? Flames? Do we go to RPM afterwards?
