...so the phone rang and both the modems answered but no login so I get in the car and dash over to the office (sunday night, right, but what else is new) and the system seems fine -- TR is high on both modems showing that DTR is asserted. The line is enabled. One modem is dial in only so what is going on??? I don't know, but to get the system up again I log in as root and /etc/haltsys. The system comes up and now everything seems hunky-dory. Do I suspect the archive tape drive card recently added to my system? Well, it's jumpered for I/O address 220H, IRQ3 and DMA channel 3. The connect Tech board is using IRQ 10 (=SCO vector 26) and memory map I/O to a000 as usual so there's no conflict, is there? (In case you ask, I don't have a COM1: COM2: card -- COM2: apparently uses IRQ3 -- yes, I rely on the connect Tech for *ALL* my serial I/O) Anyway, I've been able to call in successfully to the system with the archive board installed. Anyone have any comments? You know, when I looked at /usr/sys/conf/master I saw that the "spl" level for driver "sio" is 7, way below other things. Is that appropriate? Anyone got any answers?
