[] I'm thinking of buying a 1974 BMW 2002: Blue with tan interior Air Conditioning Weber Carb I would appreciate it if any net.auto readers could share any of their 2002 experiences with me. Is the car fun to drive? Is it mechanically reliable (for an 11 year old car)? How expensive is it to maintain? Do you think it will appreciate in value? Also, I've heard that the '73 2002 Bimmers are bad news (according to Motor Trend magazine). Does anyone know if this is true and why. Thanks. Does anyone know Do not buy the '74 unless the engine was rebuilt by an enthusiast rebuilder. The '74s had a oil delivery problem which caused them to eat their engines at an early age. The '73s were the second best 2002s made. The '76s (their last year of production) were the best of all. I had my 2002 for 13 years and loved it. The weber carb is a good bet. The original Zenith was a piece of over-priced junk. AIR is still doing business in rebuilding 2002s. They're located in Reading, PA., not Belvedere, NJ as before. Cheers, Joe Wood <ariel!>titania!jlw
