I brought this topic up at a UU meeting recently. We now have a more specific idea of our needs. If you have any information on a software package we should be looking at, please call me or send me e-mail. Our basic requirement is for a General Ledger system that is suitable for a Canadian multi-national corporate head office. The system should support some kind of Accounts Payable and (maybe) Fixed Asset tracking. The system should run on a microcomputer-to-supermicrocomputer class machine. Preferably, the software should be independent of a particular brand of hardware. Other features we would like to have: - multiple general ledgers - multiple currencies - lots of room for journal descriptions - flexible account numbering scheme - ability to handle B-I-G numbers (at least 10's of billions) - report writing capabilities - export to other software - support four users - online query - source code Any pointers to consultants, system people, software houses or satisfied customers are welcome. Thank you for your help! -- .../Paul Maclauchlan Moore Corporation Limited, Toronto, Ontario (416) 364-2600 paul@moore.UUCP -or- ...!uunet!attcan!telly!moore!paul "The wind blows away all of yesterday's news."/EJ&BT'75
