Well, it looks like the North York meeting place was a success. Many thanks to Ozan for his talk on the GNU project. For those of you interested in the book he referred to with the Unix tools algorithms, it is: A Software Tools Sampler by Webb Miller Prentice Hall 1987, ISBN 0-13-822305-X Next month's meeting takes place Wednesday, September 20 in the Memorial Hall of the North York City Centre, at 6:45pm. The meeting's topic is "The future of Unix", to be presented by Henry Spencer. This will not deal with Unix politics, but rather the new development initaitives going on at Bell Labs and elsewhere. FOR THIS MONTH ONLY, because of booking conflicts, the meeting will take place in the slightly-larger Gold Room. All future meetings will be in the Rose Room, which we will be booking on a regular basis. (Anyone have a blackboard they'd like to donate?) Topics to be covered in future meetings include high-speed modem technology, IBM's AIX, and the Motif graphic interface. Please offer suggestions for other topics you'd like to hear about - send e-mail to telly!ugc. -- Evan Leibovitch, SA, Telly Online, located in beautiful Brampton, Ontario evan@telly.on.ca / uunet!attcan!telly!evan / Director & editor, /usr/group/cdn Canadian Football League: 8 teams, two with the same name.
