[can.usrgroup] Food at the October meeting

evan@telly.on.ca (Evan Leibovitch) (10/19/89)

Well, the idea of having the Unix Unanimous meeting catered appears to
have had a number of supporters, and no detractors.

So we'll try it.

I have to plan how much food to buy, so please be honest and SEND E-MAIL to
me (don't phone) confirming that you want me to order for you. The cost
will be below $10 per person, how much so I'm not yet sure.

No tips, no VISA.

And for this meeting at least, there will be no beer. I need a little more
time to check out licensing requirements, and we can deal briefly at the
October meeting with the best way to handle this. I'm not playing barkeep.

For the October meeting at least, I will be ordering from Wolfie's Deli
at Sheppard and Bathurst, the best smoked meat house this side of Montreal.
If it works, November will be tentatively supplied by Pat & Mario's.

If there are other ideas, speak now or don't complain later.

GREAT! And the price is better than I thought it might be!

I'm not even certain we really want to do this, though it is certainly
cheaper than going to some bar for those of us who do. I would think
we could get a license such that we charge per beer, at cost. I think
the honor system will be good enough for the bar too.

I'm not sure, but if I remember right, Pat & Mario's isn't that
great. Neither is the Pickle Barrel. Why not wait 'til after and
decide if Wolfie's is prefered by one and all or not.
