The following professional position is open in the Information Services department: POSITION: Information Services Consultant LOCATION: Moore Corporation Limited 1 First Canadian Place, Toronto REPORTS TO: Manager, Information Services POSTION SUMMARY: Provide and support head office with the effective use of computer hardware and software in the areas of equipment, evaluation and upgrading, acquisition and installation, education, training, helpline and inventory control. Promote adherence to Moore IS standards. Liaison with other Moore IS locations on common issues. Provide backup on UNIX system administration and APL support on the main office computer system. Maintain current knowledge of industry issues and trends. KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Post-Secondary degree, specializing in computer science. Demonstrated ability, experience and aptitude for training computer users. Experienced in a microcomputer user-support capacity. Good familiarity with MS-DOS hardware and operating system software. Working knowledge of Lotus 1-2-3, dBase II or IV and Multimate Advantage II software, or similar. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in UNIX systems, APL programming, C programming. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of the Moore organization. Display and maintain enthusiasm, energy and patience in executing the IS consultant's function.
