I've been working on a text-formatter that's similar to nroff but will have a few more capabilities. Since it's being developed on an Amiga, only one escape-sequence-language is important since AmigaDOS will translate the Amiga-standard escape codes to work with a specific printer. Then I thought that if it turns out to be useful it would be nice to write it so it can be easily ported to MS-DOS and Unix. My question is, what escape-sequence-language should I use? The AmigaDOS escape-language is a mix between DEC and ISO except for a few dreamed up by Commodore/Amiga and my first version will use these codes. What do Unix and MS-DOS people have to say about it? -- Thought of the day: The first rule of intelligent tinkering is to save all the parts.
