ATTENTION THOSE ATTENDING UNIFORM I just tried to book a room with the Housing Committee for the Uniforum convention in Washington,D.C. THere's no more reasonably priced rooms left! The prices are now ranging from $75 to $155 US per night. A quick survey of the hotels available in the downtown area yielded similar results.I did however manage to find some rooms at the Quality Inn Downtown, 1315 16th St.N., going for $56.50 a night plus 11% tax. There's a $7.00 per night parking fee for those who may be driving. I'm told that it's about two blocks from the White House putting it four blocks from the Willard Hotel and the convention shuttle bus. If you plan to attend Uniforum and/or Usenix I suggest that you reserve now in order to lock in the favourable rate and the good location. Also there's a kitchenette available in each room in case you're interested in really cutting corners. The international reservation number for Quality Inns is 1-800-228-5151. ________________________________________________________________________________ cohort!steve (Bird) Cooper & Horton Ltd. - It doesn't cost to inquire. 1180 Lorimar Dr. Mississauga,Ont L5S 1N1 416-670-5110 fax 416-670-3988

There is a new newsgroup, comp.org.usenix.roomshare, that is supposed to be used by people attending Usenix conferences to aid in finding accomedations. It is expected that people would post ad's such as one would find in a newspaper from people looking for shared accomedations and that reply's and details would be sent by mail. Sonya sonya@usenix.org
