I don't think it a very good idea to boobie trap your car stereo with razor blades. I have never stolen anything in my life but, if I were to start ripping off car stereos, I would get pretty angry about those razor blades. I think I would probably light a fuzee flare and roll it under your car seat. I'm sure glad I'm honest.(-:) That idea about disquising the stereo speakers is a good one. They use to make a gizmo that fastened over the front of a stereo to make it look like a cheapo factory AM radio. I forget who marketed them.... Regards, T. R. Frye

This is especially a must for a Landcruiser that has its top off all the time like mine. From my experience (I do not need excellent quality sound, and you are not going to get it in an open jeep, with a v8 roaring under the hood at 60 mph), is that most speaker distortion comes when you near the maximum of the wattage rating. Well many speakers running at well below their maximum is a good way to gets lots of sound without distortion. And who wants to steal a pair of speakers that say: "K-Mart Blue Light Special" on them. It works to. My car has been vandlized 2 times now, neither time did they take the speakers which are unmounted laying on the floor. But they did take a (blech) radio shack power booster that was broken. Theives are interesting people... -- /*****************************************\ * *| |* Michael Dove *| |* Forutne Systems Corporation *| |* {ihnp4, ucbvax!dual}!fortune!dove *| |* *| \*****************************************/
