I am having troubles printing out with LaTeX. Everything works like a dream, and compiles with no errors. However, when I print it out, I get the stuff coming off the right hand side of my printer. Following is the file I LaTeX'ed : \documentstyle[a4,titlepage]{article} \begin{document} \title{Chemical Engineering 1991} \author{...} \maketitle \end{document} Now, when I have a 24 pin DM, and when it prints out, it looks something like this : _____________________________________________________________________________ | | | | | | | | | CHEMICAL E | | I am using the following to print: "dviprint -d 2 -o 1 -z 360 new.dvi". I am also using the a4.sty format, because we use A4 paper here in Australia (210x297mm). Can anyone PLEASE help me!? This programme is driving me nuts! Every time I try and do something, it does the opposite of what I want! Anticipating your replies... Thanks. ! Alex Krooglik krooglik@grunt.ecr.mu.oz.au ! Chemical Engineering ! Normaly you don't need this option. Only if you want make such crasy things like 'print four pages at one paper' is this a usefull option. You want use the draft modus of the printer (-o 1). This is here 180dpi. So, the printer prints with an resolution of 180dpi. But with the '-z 360' option, you tell the program, 'please make a bitmap with 360 dpi'. So it's very clear, that the output is to big! So try it without the '-z' option and all should ok. If you want *print* with 360dpi, set the '-o 0' option. > I am also using the a4.sty format, because we use A4 paper here in >Australia (210x297mm). > > Can anyone PLEASE help me!? PS: I've removed the comp.text.tex' usegroup, because this is a very AMIGA specific problem. -- hessmann@unipas.fmi.uni-passau.de hessmann@unipas.uucp

Alex Krooglik krooglik@grunt.ecr.mu.oz.au >! Chemical Engineering >! University of Melbourne >! Melbourne, Australia This is most probably due to a bug in the A4 style. I recommend to use the one developed in the Netherlands, available from listserv@hearn.bitnet in TEX-NL FILELIST. Rainer Sch"opf
