[comp.os.mach] Mach on AT&T hardware?

jeff@ms.uky.edu (Jeff Anderson) (08/18/89)

I posted yesterday requesting information about Mach and people's
experiences with it. Thanks to those who replied so quickly-- anybody
else who would like to drop me a line, please do!

I have been reading through some of the material sent to us by CMU,
and their system seems rather impressive. Trouble is, the articles are
between two and three years old. I have a couple of old AT&T 3B2's here
that aren't being used, and was wondering if Mach has been ported to
any machines of the 3B family? If not, is it planned in the near future?
Understandably there could be a few problems, say, in creating with SysV
the same type of binary compatibilty that Mach enjoys with 4bsd. (Probably
would be some major problems due to the proprietary nature of AT&T code).
But, I guess SysV could be ignored altogether :-) (Blasphemy! Eeek!)

Anyway, if such a port *is* available, I would be very interested in
knowing about it....
