[net.auto] Why negative camber on Triumphs?

At least half of the Triumphs I see on the road, and probably more,
have an unreal amount of negative camber on the rear wheels.  Why is
this?

P.S. Negative camber is when the tops of the tires are closer together
than the bottoms... the car looks like this:
