{ } Speaking of Dodge/Mitsubishi Colts...I just dropped mine off at the garage for a tune up. It is a 1979 FWD 4-speed (actually 8 - 4 power and 4 economy gears) hatchback. It looks great - no rust, dents, etc. It has 101,000 miles on it !!! I told the mechanic this time to replace the belts, hoses, and plug wires if they needed it (because of the car's age and mileage). THESE ARE ALL ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. In fact, the only things not original equipment are the front brake pads, battery, and signal flasher unit (normal wear items like plugs and wiper blades not included). Bottom line - highly reliable, inexpensive, efficient transportation. So it doesn't ride like a Cadillac, but for ~$6000 base price new before options, I don't think you can go wrong (opinion). It gets me back and forth to work, is fun and easy to drive (except at the drag strip). For those of us who don't need a status symbol (who am I to speak, my other car is a Volvo) or a speed buggy, it's perfect. Joe Carfagno {...!u1100a!joec} p.s. thank goodness for the first amendment, UNIX, the phone system, and other wonders which allow me to share my opinion with so many people who couldn't possible give a *$%#.
