My family has owned two spitfires ( 1971 and 1976 models). The reliability has been fair. Parts have been expensive and hard to find. We did a ring job on the 1976 model. It got botched be- cause THE NEW RINGS WERE OUT OF TOLERANCE (so much for quality control). If the parts were cheaper and easier to get I guess I wouldn't mind the car. But its use of natural rubber parts on its carbu- retor and brakes messes up the reliability of the car.
