*** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR FAVORITE CAR PROBLEM *** I have an '84 Fiero SE with that much *respected* 1.75 valves per cylinder, 4-banger "Iron Duke" engine. My latest problem (in a continuing drama...) is that as I cruise along at a constant speed, after a while something happens back there in that there engine compartment that affects the car as if someone is stomping on the gas pedal repeatedly (like a delta function (spike), not a ramp). I don't know much about engines (redundant, seeing as I bought the car...) and am wondering if anyone out there would have a good guess, or a real answer. I actually like the car alot. Could it be partially blocked fuel injectors? Thanks for any help. Christopher Rosebrugh GTE Labs, Waltham, Mass. !harvard!bunny!cpr0 uucp

I seem to have a similar problem with my Sport Coup-ayyyyy. The durn thing will sometimes run smooth as silk, while other times it acts like only three of the four cylinders are hitting. I thought it was the SHELL 2000 gas I switched to, but now it looks like I'll have to take it in for a good ol' tune up. - leiomah -

It was the "TPS Sensor" -- connects to the computer. Replaced that sucker under warranty, and the car runs fine now. Good Luck! blues, II
