I recently went to see the NeXT presentation at Yale. The box looked hot,
and even though it wasn't *quite* as overwhelmingly mind-boggling as I
expected, there were still a few things that made me gasp out loud. "This,"
I said to myself, "would be a fun box to work on."
So I asked the sales dude giving the presentation whether NeXT was in the
process of hiring any summer interns. "Why, yes!" he said. "We urgently
need people to go out and sell the machine to college campuses!"
"Uh, great," said I. "But I want to DEVELOP on the darned thing!" I thought
to myself. "I don't want to be a salesman, I want to work at NeXT on the
1.0 release or whatever else they've got for a summer person to do!" Of
course I didn't say as much to him, it would have hurt his feelings...
So... *is* NeXT hiring any summer people to work in Palo Alto (or wherever
their main offices are located)? Where do I send my resume? Anyone know?
