A friend at Mathematica has reported the accidental erasure of their optical disks which had operating systems which preceded 0.8 before they realized certain features of the previous systems were missing. Would it be possible for them to send an optical disk to someone to regain the missing files? Please contact any of the following: Dr. Dave Withoff at Mathematica (withoff@wri.com) (217) 398-0700 fax number is (217) 398-0747 Michael Hart at Duncan Research (hart@uiucvme.bitnet) (217) 344-5009 (217) 344-0367 (10 AM - 10 PM CST) Thank you for your co-operation.

And everyone thought magneto-optic would sound the death nell for write once! (Sorry, I know lost files are no laughing matter but I just couldn't restrain myself. 8-) :-) -------------------------------------------------------- Matt Taylor @ Maximum Storage, Inc. The reason the erasure turned out to be accidental was that NeXT told everyone to return their previous disks and all copies, before releasing the 0.8 version, guaranteeing that no files would be omitted in the process of upgrading. It is these files we are trying to recover. If you can be of assistance please contact: Dr. Dave Withoff, one of the authors of Mathematica at withoff@wri.com or at (217) 398-0700 or send any pre- 0.8 optical disk to him at POB 6059, Champaign, IL 61801. Sorry I missed all the fuss about my note, but I was busy. You may forward me a copy of any parts you would like be to respond to.
