We just got our first NeXT this week. We've been trying to get TCP/IP to work, but, so far, we haven't had much luck. We followed all the directions (all 1.2 pages of them...) that were given in the training manual, setting up the hosts and networks files and all that, but all that we seem to be able to do over the Ethernet is ping the NeXT *from* the NeXT (not too useful, really...yes, this *does* seem to be going over the network, it is not just the loopback). All other attempts to reach other machines come back with a response of "Host unreachable." We also cannot telnet from other machines on the net to the NeXT...highly aggravating. We tried to contact the NeXT people, but they didn't seem to know what was up. So, has anybody else had trouble setting up TCP/IP? Any helpful hints, suggestions, etc? E-mail would be fine if you don't want to waste network bandwidth.
