[comp.sys.next] How do you set up dial-in & dial-out on the same port?

How do you set this up. In the docs, it says that ttyda and cua can share
the port but it doesn't seem to work that way. Please send examples of
ttys and whatever else I need to configure this with. For a modem I am
using a Hayes2400. To test, I am using a mac with a Hayes 1200. I can get
it to answer but it doesn't respond to my typing on the mac.
