Poor me, the local Ethernet is thick but I only have this here BNC connector on the NeXT. I'm about to order $865 worth of repeater from Cabletron to repair this sad condition. Has any brilliant or lucky soul found a better way?? I hasten to add that any scheme which simply splices the two sizes of cable together will be rejected out of hand. The other (minor) problem is to figure out which other vendors' toner cartridges are usable in the laser printer. I suspect that some are compatible but I worry about doing some harm in carrying out the obvious tests. Who has been more brave than I? If you use N-series Ethernet, then a $4 N-series to BNC adapter could save you some money. -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gary L. Schaps P.O. The board will cost around $500 but not be avail- able until the third quarter. This is paraphrased from a small article on the front page of the magazine, in the "Latest" column. Ed Lewis

The list price for this product will be $500, but I believe substantial University discounts will be available. There are other solutions which are more cost-effective for interfacing clusters of machines with a thick-wire backbone, but D.K.'s message implies that he wants to convert a single machine.
