I have generated one cycle of a siren sound @ 44.1 kHz(?), in the NeXT sound format. It is available for ftp from cs.orst.edu under directory pub/next/???/Siren (64KB, non-compressible). Possible uses: (1) in conjunction with a screen locking program (2) when your "make" finishes (3) biff? DSP anyone? John Carlson carlson@tis.llnl.gov

Try "cat Siren > /dev/sound0" Is there some way to convert this to something in NeXT sound format? John Carlson
