since I last decided to get rid of my mac II to acquire a NeXT, I have been thinking that the nicest peace of software to have NOW would be a package to do macintosh emulation on the NeXT. The same kind of thing exists to run ms-dos on the mac , and I suspect more NeXT users will want to use mac programs than mac users do want to run dos on their machines . since my experience in writing typical macintosh applications did not go much further than what I have been doing so far on the NeXT, I am not sure as to whether it would be reasonable to hope on something like that becoming available one day. some professional developers probably already gave it a thought. maybe one of them will take the time to explain me whether this is more than just a dream. I suspect that since both machines are motorola based , it should not be too hard, but.... christian

I wouldn't hold your breath. Even Apple has trouble emulating Mac software in A/UX, on a native macintosh!!!!! Maybe since there will be much upheaval in system 7.0, they will make changes to make this sort of emulation more feasible.
